The default is 2 × 1TB NVMe, no hardware RAID, each disk direct-attached. Usable capacity is 2TB.

One or two extra 2TB NVMe drives can be added, $84 each per month, outside any hardware array.∞

Redundancy, if required, is a software RAID plus a backup kept off the machine.

System

Linux or Windows can be installed in advance

The included system defaults to Ubuntu 24.04. AlmaLinux, Debian, CentOS Stream, FreeBSD, and Proxmox VE are also available.

Linux uses SSH. Windows uses RDP. Windows Server Standard is $16 a month. Datacenter is $26 a month.∞

Windows is available as 2019, 2022, or 2025, in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, or English.

How are a physical server and a cloud host divided?

A cloud host divides a host machine among several accounts. A physical server registers one tenant on the whole machine. CPU, memory, and disks stay with that tenant.

What is a bare metal server in this offer?

A bare metal server is the whole machine, without a slice cut out by a hypervisor. This physical server is delivered that way.

Which workloads use this specification?

Virtualization and several sites, databases and middleware, access that needs its own IPv4, and Windows Server.

Which memory modules are installed?

Both tiers use DDR4-3200 ECC RDIMM. 128GB is $455 a month. 256GB is $612 a month.

How much space do the two 1TB disks provide?

The default is 2 × 1TB NVMe, with no hardware RAID, each disk direct-attached. Usable capacity is 2TB, not the 1TB left after a RAID-1 mirror.

Where is the machine deployed?

The machine is deployed in Tokyo, Japan.

Is transfer metered on top of the port?

250M, 1G, and 2G are unmetered. The default port is 250M.
